Of course, threecolor can be used for black and white images as well... Here are a few black and whites from threecolor taken by the Austin-Fellows 32" (with 1k x 1k FLI CCD camera) and Metzger 20" (with SBIG ST-8 CCD camera) Newtonian reflectors.
